BOOK DESCRIPTION:
The Light at the End of History presents photographs from artist Abbey Hepner's decade-long examination of nuclear energy, the atomic bomb, and radioactive waste. By capturing distinct marks in time, Hepner makes visible the ongoing, often invisible, relationships with nuclear technologies. The book features images from 8 series of works that include X-Ray film photographs, cyanotype on bone, laser engraved photographs, and uranium prints.
Hardcover, 164 pages, 5 maps, 67 full-color images. Published by Daylight Books, designed by Ursula Damm, copy editing by Nancy Zastudil and Gabi Fastman, maps by Scott White, aerial image assistance from Mark Finco, essay by Kirsten Pai Buick.

*SNOW GLOBE:
Featured in a mini snow globe is a small photographer figurine that captures, or perhaps is engulfed in, a permanent nuclear winter. The kitsch object of the snow globe became popularized during a time of industrialization, responding to a deep-seated need for connection with a disappearing natural world. As our modern landscapes continue to transform, I wonder what kinds of sites evoke nostalgia now.
*The photographer figurines will vary between 5 distinctly different figures. Each figurine has a limited edition of 4.
The snow globe is made from glass, wood, a painted figurine and plastic snow. It is fragile and like other snow globes may change over time and develop a bubble of air inside.
